Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 July 2026
FamilyAI (“FamilyAI”, “we”, “us”) helps Indian households make better money decisions. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we protect it, and the choices you have. By using our website or joining our early-access programme, you agree to this policy and to our Terms of Service.
1. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to provide and improve the service:
- Account and contact details: name, email address, mobile number, and date of birth.
- Location details: country, state, city, and pincode, used to surface region-specific schemes and guidance.
- Household financial inputs: figures you choose to share, such as income, spending, EMIs, savings, and subscriptions.
- Verification data: one-time codes sent to your email or mobile to confirm ownership.
- Google sign-in data: if you choose “Continue with Google”, we receive your Google account’s email address, whether Google has verified that address, your first and last name, and your Google account identifier. Section 4 explains exactly what we do with it.
- Technical data: basic device, browser, and usage information collected to keep the service secure and reliable.
2. How we use your information
- To create your account and verify your identity.
- To generate personalised financial analysis and recommendations.
- To send you transactional messages such as verification codes and updates.
- To operate, secure, and improve the service.
- To meet legal and regulatory obligations.
We process your data based on your consent and our legitimate interest in running the service. You can withdraw consent at any time, as described below.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run FamilyAI, under contracts that require them to protect it:
- Cloud database and hosting providers that store your data.
- Email and SMS providers that deliver verification codes and notifications.
- An AI provider that powers analysis. We send only the financial figures needed for the analysis, never used to train third-party models.
We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our users.
4. Google sign-in and Google user data
Signing in with Google is optional. You can always create an account with your email address and a password instead. If you do use it, here is the whole picture.
What we request. We ask Google only for the basic sign-in scopes openid, email, and profile. We do not request access to your Gmail messages, Google Drive files, Contacts, Calendar, or any other Google service, and we cannot read them.
What we receive and store. Google returns a signed token containing your email address, its verified status, your name, and a stable Google account identifier. We store your email address and name as your FamilyAI account details, and the identifier so we can recognise you the next time you sign in. Because Google has already confirmed the address, we skip our own six-digit email verification and you do not need to set a FamilyAI password.
How we use it. Only to create your account, sign you in, pre-fill your registration form, and send you service email such as your welcome message. Nothing more.
Limited use. FamilyAI’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular, we do not sell Google user data, do not use it for advertising or to build advertising profiles, do not transfer it to others except as needed to run FamilyAI, to comply with law, or as part of a merger or acquisition with your notice, and we do not allow humans to read it except with your consent, for security or legal reasons, or on data that has been aggregated and anonymised.
Disconnecting. You can revoke FamilyAI’s access at any time from your Google account permissions page. That stops future Google sign-ins. To also remove the details already stored in your FamilyAI account, ask us to delete it, as described in sections 6 and 7.
5. Data security
We protect your information with encryption in transit, access controls, and other safeguards. Verification codes are short-lived and stored only in hashed form. No system is perfectly secure, but we work continuously to keep your data safe and will notify you of any breach as required by law.
6. Data retention and deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, and only as long as the law requires after that.
To have your account and its data deleted, email team@familyai.in from your registered address with the subject “Delete my account”. We action deletion requests within 30 days and confirm when it is done. Deletion removes your profile, your household financial inputs, any documents you uploaded, and any Google account identifier we hold, apart from the minimum records we are legally required to retain.
7. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, you can:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Request deletion of your data.
- Withdraw consent for processing or marketing.
- Disconnect Google sign-in, as described in section 4.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at team@familyai.in.
8. Children
FamilyAI is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you directly.
